1. I feel that I am definitely getting to know more and more of what it takes to become a good teacher. I remember back when one of my classes this semester started talking about lesson plans, and I really had no idea what a teacher would use one for. But after this whole semester I have gained a knowledge for knowing what they are for and being able to have measurable objectives every class. Although the classes have become tougher and tougher throughout the semester, I feel that my knowledge in becoming a good teacher has taken giant steps toward my goal of being a great teacher.
2. I feel I have done a poor job staying on task with all my classes. I am in 6 education classes this semester, plus Coaching varsity baseball, and working part time. It has been tought ot stay on top of every class, and I feel that Ed psych has been the toughest. I really enjoy the class, and have learned a ton from it, but keeping up with the homework assignments in the class has been the toughest, because there is a lot to do, and it seems so little time.
3. I feel that I have been gaining a ton of knowledge and have been doing a good job with my goals. I wouldn't say my goals have been kept perfectly, but I feel I have done a good job for the most part sticking to them.
4. I think one thing I could do is create a daily sheet stating everything due in all the classes for the week, so I can stay on top of everything and can just check mark it off when completed. I usually seem to procrastinate on assignments until the night before they are due.
5. I feel that my motivation is the same as it was when I started the education program. I am very excited for the day I officially become a teacher. I feel that right now my motivation is more of performance because I am trying to pass all these classes right now without really getting to know everything about each subject. I think that what I am doing is good though, because I feel mastery comes with time and experience. I think that is one of the great things about teaching. When you go in, you have knowledge, but actual teaching allows for the masstery of the subject as well as mastery of how to handle students...Experience is key!
